Hi! I’m Kimberly, a 22 year old college graduate living in Charlotte, NC. I blog about my life as a runner. Here is a little bit about my running history:
I ran my first race when I was ten years old, the one-mile “fun run.” Absolutely no fun was had when I ran this race. I experienced my first side stitch and cried and walked the entire time. Ironically, I placed second in my age group and was awarded a medal. (“I guess that wasn’t so bad…”)
I didn’t run again until I was 13 years old and decided to join the cross country and track teams at my middle school. Since then, I haven’t stopped. I ran competitively through high school. In college, I did not join a team but I continued to run on my own.
Running has given me more than I ever expected. It has taken me to beautiful places. It has blessed me with life long friends. It has taught me how to overcome obstacles, push myself, and never take a run to seriously (there’s always going to be another race).
But I have miles to go before I sleep…
1 mile: 5:58
2 mile: 12:41
half marathon: 1:47:22
